Words in the class
You can’t write like in the movies:
*TAKA TAKA TAKA TAKA TAKA* - There! My masterpiece!
You will edit it 900 times before it is (almost) perfect!
I have been thinking about this myself for a while. When I was in 8th grade (or maybe 7, don’t know) I used to skip English lessons and stayed with my arts teacher instead. We would work on younger students water paintings. These kids, age 7-8 wouldn’t paint magically great of course, but in the end you would think so.
So the “skeleton” would be there on the paper. Then my teacher and I would go over them. We would color them little better, add details and such. Last touch would be giving depth into it, you know, shadows and such. I can’t remember every single detail but the idea is to edit the paintings. In the end, you wouldn’t believe the paintings started with a regular 7 year old child’s abilities.
Writing is no different. You can not *taka taka taka* (hit the keyboard!) and expect a masterpiece. It is the first draft. As the guest of our class said: it is the shitty draft. You will need to edit it 900 times.
…
I read my last assignment in front of the class today: I shook like the earthquake in Turkey…. I trust myself and I don’t feel excited but I shake like hell when I stand in front of people… Ridiculous :D After reading the shitty second draft if my assignment, I felt ashamed. The second draft I wrote is obviously worse than the shitty first draft, and they don’t even know it. Problem is, I forgot that we were expected to submit the assignment today, so I had to edit it in 15 mins. That didn’t end up so good. It’s ok, I’ll fix it in the final paper, but WHY DID I STAND UP AND READ THAT IDIOTICLY BAD PIECE? :D
ah well… They might as well think I’m an idiot. Nevermind!
